WhiskyStories: Where No One Has Gone
Although there is no consensus on whether whisky originated in Ireland or Scotland, one thing is certain: it comes from the British Isles. What is also widely agreed upon is that today, the world's best, most exclusive, and most extraordinary whiskies come from Scotland. While proud whisky- and whiskey-producing nations such as Ireland, Japan, and Canada all produce outstanding expressions, Scotland brings something extra to the table – holding nearly all the significant records for the world’s oldest and most expensive whiskies.
“Whisky” has been distilled in Scotland for about 1,000 years, although the first written records of the word itself do not appear until roughly 500 years later. Still, it wasn't until 1775 that Glenturret was officially established – today credited as Scotland’s oldest distillery.
There are now around 150 active Scottish single malt distilleries, and the list continues to grow. From legendary names to small, unknown producers making whisky for blends.
Through *WhiskyStories*, RareWine Group has created the most comprehensive and ambitious documentary series ever made about Scotch whisky. It gives you the opportunity to explore some of Scotland’s finest distilleries, dive deep into their histories, discover flavour profiles, and step behind doors normally closed to the public.
*WhiskyStories* takes you beyond the facade – to the people who create, share, and shape the narrative of whisky. It’s a conversation among whisky lovers, for whisky lovers. Along the way, you’ll meet distillers, industry insiders, and even the most influential and powerful woman in whisky today: Master Blender of Johnnie Walker, Emma Walker – featured in an extremely exclusive interview.
The RareWine production team spent over two years of work, dozens of flights, and countless hours driving through the Highlands – and the journey is far from over. No one has ever gone this far to document the extraordinary stories of whisky in Scotland. And now, you’re invited to come along.
